How to unlink Apple TV remote from MacBook

If you've got an Apple TV and its remote controller interferes with your MacBook / MacBook Pro don't worry- there is an easy way to sever this connection.

Simply follow these steps:

1. Go to Apple () menu at the top-left corner of the screen -> and select System Preferences...

   

2. Search for Security & Privacy

   

3. Press Advanced... button (if not available, you need to authenticate to activate it- press the lock icon located at the bottom-left of the window -> enter your password -> and hit Unlock button)

   

4. Tick Disable remote control infrared receiver -> then press OK button

   

From now the Apple TV's remote will no longer control your Mac.
