How to mount a Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Store
If your mail client program (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) won't connect to the Exchange server, it might be that the Mailbox Store is dismounted.
To mount it again, do the steps below:
- Log in to the MAILSERVER with an account which has proper access rights.
- Run Exchange System Manager and go to: menu Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Exchange -> System Manager
- Expand tree in the left pane: Name_of_the_company(Exchange) -> Administrative Groups -> DOMAIN_NAME -> Servers -> MAIL_SERVER_NAME -> First Storage Group
- Right click on: Mailbox Store (MAIL_SERVER_NAME) -> select Mount Store -> press OK
The above should do the job and your mail client program should automatically restore a connection. Unfortunately, sometimes Outlook needs to be closed and re-opened.
